  How many here smoke?

  i don't and am very unlikely to after seeing my father dying of a smoking related lung disease (even though i would like to try a high quality cigar).. but i am curious to see how many people take up smoking after leaving the org.. .

  Never started, never will.

  My mother had lung cancer (thru passive smoking) and watching her slowly die of that horrible disease was enough to swear me off smoking - ever. The JWs' stance had nothing to do with my decision.

  Fiji Bethel Scandal

  does anyone remember the scandal that rocked fiji in appx early 1992?

  i have searched this site and found no reference to it.

  so, hoping someone here might remember the finer details and whatever happened to the guilty culprits....... my best mate was in the australian bethel at the time, and on a trip back home to melbourne he caught up with me and told me most of the details.

  there's a jw woman who's kids go to the same school as mine.

  my oldest son is friends with this woman's oldest son.

  Getting back on topic...

  BOC, your wife is on the threshold of realising that the WTS is a pile of rubbish. Don't push her. Let her reason on things in her own time and she will leave for good. Her reaction to this video indicates she is nearly there.

  My final pushing point curtesy of the WTS was the Greatest Man book. Studying that helped me leave. This video may almost be the final straw. Just give it time.

  i would send an incredible amount of time shaking hands.

  As a female, you have the option not to shake their hand. It's not an obligation and at the end of the day, it's your body. If you want to shake hands, fine. But if not, it's your perogative to refuse.

  I hate those "wet fish" type handshakes.

  If you're going to shake my hand, do it with meaning! No wimpy loose-wristed handshakes thank you!

  And this applies to both men and women.
